We’ve Been Here Before
February 10 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
They say history doesn’t repeat itself, but that it rhymes. This past year was an exceptional echo. In 1918-1919, our nation weathered and survived a pandemic that claimed over 600,000 lives in the United States. Join the Northeast Kansas libraries and Lora Vogt of the National WWI Museum and Memorial for a moderated discussion on the 1918 flu pandemic and explore what we can learn from this moment in U.S. history.
Moderated by Rimsie McConiga, reporter at the Platte County Citizen, there will be an opportunity to submit questions at your Zoom registration and the libraries also invite questions to be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org by February 4. A live “chat” submission of questions will also be provided at the end of the discussion.
In partnership with the public libraries in Atchison, Basehor, Bonner Springs, Lansing, Leavenworth, Linwood, and Tonganoxie.
